Edward ‘Eddie’ Douglas, 42, of Park Hills passed away April 1, 2015.   He was born Nov. 30, 1972 in St. Louis.   Preceded in death by his father – Larry Ray Douglas.      Survived by his mother – Patricia Ann (McKinney) Douglas,    children – Megan and Zachary of Farmington,  grand daughter – Harlow,   brother – Billy Douglas,  aunts – Brenda McKinney and Donna Roth of Park Hills,  uncle – Larry McKinney of Park Hills,  also survived by other relatives and friends survive.   VISITATION: was on Monday 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home.    SERVICE: was on Tuesday April 7, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home.    Minister: Rev. Bill Bond   Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Leadington, Mo.

 

Barbel King, 73, of Bismarck passed away April 3, 2015 at Mineral Area Regional Medical Center.  She was born Sept. 2, 1941 in Erfurt Thüringen, Germany.    Preceded in death by parents – Georg Landstorfer and Charlotte ‘Neuwirth’ Landstorfer,  and a brother – Lothar Landstorfer.       Survived by her husband – Clarence G. King of Bismarck,   two daughters – Christine Green and husband Jeffrey of Park Hills,  and Karen McLane and husband Robert of Bismarck,   five grandchildren – Brittni Sweeney and husband Matthew,  Aaron Green,  Colton McLane,  Jeremia Owens and Corey McLane,  two great grandchildren -  Grant Sweeney and Matilynn Sweeney,    Brother – Huebert Landstorfer and wife Monica of Germany,  many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive in Germany.    She was a member of VFW Bismarck Ladies Auxiliary.       A Memorial Service was on Thursday April 9, 2015 at Horton-Wampler Funeral Home with visitation starting at 3:00 P.M.  to  service time at 5:00 P.M.     A dinner will be at Bismarck Baptist Church after the memorial service.    Arrangements by Horton-Wampler Funeral Home.

 

Evelyn Christina Thurman (Plassmeyer) Thurman in her 96yh year a resident of St. Francois County passed away on April 3, 2015, at Parkland Health Center in Farmington.  She was born December 24, 1918, in Westphalia, a daughter of the late John H. Plassmeyer and Mary Christina (Loehner) Plassmeyer.  Evelyn has been with her caring Ashbrook family for the past 5 years.  Evelyn was a lifetime member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and was a member of Ladies Sodality.  She was employed at Wetterau Inc. in Desloge, Mo. as a packing processor for 20 yrs.  and was a member of the Teamsters Union.     Survivors include her three children, John Thurman (Mary) of Bonne Terre,   Sharon ‘Bitty’ Henson (Lenny) of Park Hills, and LuAnn Terrell (Jim) of Jacksonville, Florida,   ten grandchildren,   fifteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren,  three sisters in law,  Marilyn and Sabina Plassmeyer, and Florence Thurman, many nieces and nephews and LuAnn Howard.    In Addition to her husband and parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by three brothers,  Herb, Ben and Tony Plassmeyer,  two sisters, Rita Mengwasser and Viola Hodges,  two brothers in law,  Adolf Mengwasser and Forrest Hodges,  sister in law, Esther Plassmeyer, and her beloved friends Alice and Ardell LaFloure.    Evelyn has donated her body to Washington University for medical research.  A Funeral Mass was  held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Park Hills.   Lunch will follow at the church.   Arrangements by Horton-Wampler Funeral Home.

 

Gary Lynn Amsden, 58, of Park Hills passed away April 8, 2015 at his residence.   He was born March 18, 1957 in Farmington.  Preceded in death by parents – James Amsden and Blanche ‘Rowe’ Amsden,   and a brother – Melvin ‘Muggs’ Amsden.       Survived by 2 sisters – Rosalee ‘Rosie’ Propst of Farmington and Nancy Leonard and husband Floyd of Fredericktown,  many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.     Gary was a cook for many years at various restaurants  and stores.        VISITATION: was on Friday April 10, 2015 after 10:30 A.M. to SERVICE TIME:  at 1:00 P.M.        MINISTERS: Rev. Eddie Bone  and Rev. Carl Cureton.    INTERMENT: St. Francois Memorial Park Cemetery,  Bonne Terre, Mo.     Arrangements by Horton-Wampler Funeral Home.
